Behind the design: Design collaborations shaping the future

At EFG, product design is about creating furniture that endures – in both expression and quality. It means using resources intelligently and designing products that can be adapted and renewed over time. Our design partners are a crucial part of this journey, where together we explore new possibilities and shape the furniture of tomorrow.

Front

The Swedish design studio Front, founded by Sofia Lagerkvist and Anna Lindgren, is internationally acclaimed for its conceptual approach, where experimentation and innovative materials often take centre stage.

Their designs are characterised by a playful spirit and a desire to challenge traditional notions, frequently with an avant-garde aesthetic. Front often creates furniture and objects that tell a story about the design process, the material, or the conventions of design itself. They explore unexpected elements and draw much inspiration from people’s homes and their relationships with objects.

Awards and honours: Front has received numerous prestigious awards, including Designer of the Year from the ELLE Deco International Design Awards, Designer of the Future, and the Interior Innovation Award. Their works have been exhibited at the Nationalmuseum, MoMA, the Victoria & Albert Museum, M+, and Centre Pompidou.
