Warmth, durability and function – meet Appoint
Appoint is a new beam sofa with organic lines and carefully crafted comfort – designed for high-traffic public environments where function, durability and aesthetics must work in harmony. With a warm wooden beam, soft curves and a distinctly Scandinavian expression, Appoint makes an inviting impression, whether placed in an airport lounge, waiting room or reception area.
“We wanted to bring organic warmth to a type of furniture that is often perceived as cold and strictly functional. That’s why we chose to combine a wooden beam with rounded forms in the sofa design,” says Andreas Mattisson, Manager Product Development at EFG.
Appoint was developed to meet the needs of modern, flexible public interiors where fixed seating is often required. The sofa is available in several configurations – from straight to angled combinations – and can be adapted with a wide range of materials and accessories. It also meets strict hygiene and durability requirements.
“The ability to disinfect the furniture is fundamental in healthcare environments. Appoint can be upholstered in durable, wipe-clean faux leather and features legs and seams adapted to demanding hygiene standards. It also offers stationary seating, reducing the need to rearrange furniture in environments such as waiting areas,” says designer Olle Lundberg.
Every detail of comfort has been carefully refined, resulting in a seating experience so solid that you hardly notice when someone takes a seat next to you. Appoint is where design and function come together in a timeless piece – ready for the public spaces of tomorrow.
Sustainable design with replaceable upholstery
Thanks to its layer-by-layer design, all parts of Appoint can be easily replaced – extending the sofa’s life cycle. The upholstery is also fully replaceable, which is unique for this type of seating. In addition to the beam, the seat and back frame is also made from FSC® certified wood (FSC-C009111) from responsibly managed forests and other controlled sources. And because wood stores carbon, it has a lower carbon footprint than metal. Appoint is Möbelfakta certified and comes with an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD).
