When the wood product company Setra relocated to new premises in Solna, Sweden, their aim was to create a workspace that reflects their operations – with wood and sustainability at the forefront. The result is a contemporary and welcoming office furnished by EFG, blending timeless design and flexibility with a strong environmental commitment.

A modern and minimalist interior inspired by nature
Setra’s new office in Solna combines an open-plan workspace with a mix of meeting and conference rooms in varying sizes, along with a shared break area for both kitchen and lounge. Sheer, lightweight curtains frame the generous windows, flooding the space with natural light. A spacious terrace with sweeping views across Solna further adds to the airy feel.
“The open-plan layout introduced a new way of working for many employees. That’s why it was particularly important to create a calm and inviting environment with space for both focused work and collaboration,” says Evelina Höglund, project manager at Input Interior, who was responsible for the loose furnishings.

The office interior is modern and minimalist, yet warm and welcoming. With generous use of wood and a nature-inspired palette of beige, cognac and green, the design connects clearly to the forest. Sustainable, well-considered material choices – such as reused or reusable wool fabrics and ash and oak veneers – reinforce the natural look throughout the workspace.
Setra wanted the interior to reflect their business, with plenty of wood and warm natural tones. EFG’s wide range of materials and finishes made it easy to realise an office that fulfilled their vision.

A cohesive look from entrance to desk
To create a harmonious and unified expression, sleek and flexible products from EFG were chosen for all areas. The entrance features the Evo lounge chair in light ash with beige 3D-knitted fabric – a timeless eyecatcher that sets the tone from the moment you step inside. Workstations are equipped with the height-adjustable Rise desk with a light ash top, Tab acoustic desk screens, and the Savo Soul Mesh chair from Savo.

Designed for meetings and moments of pause
In the meeting and conference rooms, the Archie chair was selected for its excellent comfort and flexibility. Upholstered in recycled wool and featuring armrests and castors, Archie offers a comfortable experience for various users. It is paired with the adaptable Collaborate table, available in light ash with integrated power outlets for a clean, functional solution. Wall-mounted Create units in light ash provide neat storage in the meeting rooms.

“Archie has a flexible back and a gently curved shape that adjusts to the user, making it exceptionally comfortable,” says Evelina.

The lounge and break areas are designed for relaxation and interaction. Here, the Mingle Standard sofa provides upright seating, while the more generous Mingle Lounge offers a laid-back experience. Both are upholstered in grey wool for a soft, natural look.

The lightweight Zoe chair, made from solid oak with a cognac leather seat, is used in both lounge and dining zones. Its slender profile adds elegance, while the solid wood construction ensures strength and character.
“Zoe is a beautifully crafted wooden chair with a strong identity. Its stackable design and low weight make it ideal for dynamic, ever-changing environments,” Evelina adds.

Circular thinking and long-term sustainability
An essential part of the project was reusing existing furniture. After a careful inventory, several items were brought from the previous office into the new space, while others were sent to Setra’s sawmills to be reused in their staff areas. Additional reused pieces were sourced from Input Interior’s own reuse channels.

“Setra’s sustainability focus runs through every part of the company. To minimise transportation, we worked with as few suppliers as possible, prioritising Swedish producers with strict environmental standards and certifications. Choosing furniture with long-term value – both aesthetically and environmentally – was a given. EFG offers a broad range of sustainable products that are easy to update and refurbish when needed, which made them a natural choice for Setra’s new office,” says Evelina.
